Hello friends! This is gonna be a blast and its also the last show of 2014! I'm so glad that the last show of the year is going to be with my sister, Jessica Weatherly! We're gonna be singing all of our old favorites, and some brand new songs! You might even catch us singing one by The Boss. You'll have to be there to find out which one!
I'm looking forward to spending the rest of this year hanging out in Colorado with my family, looking at the mountains and maybe going snowshoeing. You know, just being a Colorado girl in Colorado before heading back to Tennessee. Look for some new shows on the Shows page over the next little while. Gonna be some fun ones in 2015! And don't forget to visit the Store to pick up some last minute Christmas presents!
Hey everyone! Happy turkey day and happy December! I can hardly believe its December again, but I find myself thinking that every year. The shows in Colorado are going fantastic! Great pickin' and singing thanks to Aaron McClouskey, Jessica Weatherly and David Richey! I'm really looking forward to playing a Caudill Sisters show tomorrow at O'dell Brewing Co, one of my all time favorite breweries. In the spirit of sisters, here's a little recording of Jess and I singing one of the tunes from my November Song Challenge. Its called Loony Bird and I wrote it with my old friend, Jess Ross from Austin Texas! Enjoy!
I've also got a few workshops coming up and there's still time to sign up for one! Visit the shows page to find out more information about those and other upcoming shows!
Also, if you're still searching for the perfect Christmas present visit the music page and order some music. Or if you feel so inclined download the digital single Colorado Christmas Eve to enjoy again and again throughout the holiday season! Get that here!
Stay warm and be merry!
This is coming up pretty soon. Can't wait to be surrounded by family and snow and music and you!
In other news here is the latest episode of my video blog. I've shared one of my songs from the November song challenge. I hope you like it and I'll be sure to post another one in the future!
Thanks for watching and see ya soon!
Its important to challenge yourself if you want to grow. So this November I'll be doing a Songwriting Challenge! The idea is to write a song every day for the whole entire month of November. I usually write a lot, but its rare that I'll finish a song in one day. I'll usually obsess over it, mess with it and tweek it for a while until I'm relatively satisfied that it is indeed done. I'm hoping this challenge will help me to get into my creative space more often, and more quickly than usual. I'm excited to line all the songs up back to back and assess them when the month is up and see if I made improvements and grown or if I just churned out a bunch of songs that are half done that I don't really like. Either way, it will have been a success to follow through with the challenge for the entire month.
In the spirit of challenging one's self, I now challenge all of you to try something that pushes your limits a little this month. Be it something creative, something physical, job related, relationship based or anything else! Get out there and grow with me, folks!
I'm going to be adding some show dates for December in Colorado, so keep an eye out for those and happy November to ya!
A little update from Magnolia Festival in Live Oak Florida. Had a blast playing with Nikki and Jason! Maybe see you sooner than later, Florida folks!
Thanks for watching!
Well, I just spent an hour writing a great blog update but then my computer crashed and I lost all of it. Oh technology, why do you hurt me so?
Here's the gist of it:
I've been writing a lot of songs, and also half writing a lot of songs in addition to co-writing a lot of songs. Basically, a lot of songs are being created and should be demoed. I would love to share those demos as they are completed throughout the winter months.
Full Moon Pickin Party:
I played the Full Moon Pickin Party with the lovely and talented Jen Starsinic, Lauren Saks and Nate Lee. It was cold, it rained, we played an acoustic set under the edge of the horse barn, people gathered around, it was awesome, we had fun.
I'm headed to Live Oak Florida tomorrow to play Mag Fest with Nikki Talley and Jason Sharp. Its going to be super rad and I'm excited about getting back out of town for a little while.
Sorry this post is lame. Rest assured that the first draft was a sparkling dazzling shining work of art.
To make up for the lack of excitement and effort put into this post, here is a picture of Ruby with a wild pony:
Enjoy the fall weather, folks!
Back in August, The Caudill Sisters, (Jessica Weatherly and myself), played on KRFC in Fort Collins for their Live At Lunch program. I know some of you may have missed it, but you can listen to it right now, right here!
And while you are listening, you can look at this silly picture of us.
Thanks for listening!
I've been back in Nashville for about a week now. Just enough time to rest up and reflect on the Colorado trip while settling into my new house by the railroad tracks. I've also gotten a chance to go through all the pictures that the gracious and talented, Tom Stuart, took throughout the tour. I want to share some of those with you, but first, some great news!
One of my favorite guitar players, Jim Hurst, has released yet another amazing album. On that album is a song that I was lucky enough to get to write with another one of my favorite guitar players, David Grier! So if you like guitar, guitar players, great music, fantastic singing and good songs, I suggest that you visit his website and get a copy of the new album! Its called Looking Glass, and it looks like this:
You can buy it here: www.jimhurst.com! Go on, go buy one, then come back for the rest of the blog. It'll still be here when you get back, I promise.
Ok, so now for the pictures from the tour. I had a blast! It was great to see my family, a bunch of old friends, make some new friends and get to play with some of Colorado's finest for some of Colorado's finest! Ok. Pictures!

Caudill Sisters at Stem Ciders:
The Quartet in Fort Collins on a beautiful day:
In the afterglow of a wonderful time in the West I'll be packing up and heading out again soon. I'll be in Virginia later this month and plan to do a mountain top video to introduce you to a brand new song! I'll also be celebrating my birthday soon, and lets just say that this one will be a milestone for me, so I'll be ringing it in on top of a mountain with my trusty sidekick, Ruby. I'm also getting revved up for Magnolia Festival in Live Oak Florida with my good friend Nikki Talley and her partner in crime, Jason Sharp! Its been a while since I've seen her, let alone gotten to sing an play with her! If you live near Live Oak, come and witness the reunion! Last time we were both in Florida there may or may not have been some late-night-moonshine-fire-spitting going on... It should be a wild one.
After that I'm going to try and ground myself for a while and get all the songs cleared out of my head and into the world before heading back to the good ol' C O in December.
Thanks for reading, and I will hopefully see you all very soon!
